Homemade Distil Has Anyone Made A Homemade Room Humidifier?

Has anyone made a homemade room humidifier? - homemade distil

I bought several "real" in the last few years and I am a little tired of the maintenance and purchase of distilled water. I am looking for a home version of success than anyone had a chance with. One method that I've heard, is in a container with water to the exhaust air damper position. Other ideas? This is a small room.
